Robert Shiller, recent Nobel Prize winning economist and Yale University professor, sent out a survey to professional money managers the same week as the 1987 Black Monday crash, asking them what news they were reading and on what basis were they making decisions that day. This is a fascinating paper and not technically challenging – well worth a read!
